Supervision

Are you a social worker, nurse, midwife, doula, counsellor, psychologist or support worker feeling unsupported by the supervision or debriefing offered in your workplace? Do you yearn to show up with more capacity and authenticity for your patients/clients? Are you willing to fill your own cup and attend to your own needs as a care professional in this way? To have space held for you, so you can then hold space for the people you're supporting in a more sustainable and meaningful way?

Then supervision might be just the thing you're looking for!

I offer a supportive and practical approach to supervision - a safe space for reflection and processing, where values-based and person-centred decision making is encouraged, and embodied awareness is honoured and celebrated.

Along with 20 years of clinical experience as a Social Worker, I also have a Graduate Diploma in Gestalt Supervision and I am influenced by the rich philosophical traditions of Relational Gestalt Therapy in my supervision practice. The Gestalt approach “builds capacity for awareness, allowing people to be more receptive to their own needs, the experience of others, and the world.”

Monthly supervision is standard practice in the Social Work world - there is a collective recognition that all clinicians benefit from the safe container of regular supervision - regardless of level of experience. Supervision is an opportunity to debrief and process our work, and also to learn, grow and evolve in our practice.

I'm passionate about supporting other care professionals to engage in supervision because:

- I have lived experience of all of its benefits as a supervisee;

- And, as a supervisor - I've seen firsthand how supervision can transform the practice of the people I supervise

Quality supervision is consistently identified as a practice that directly benefits workers, organisations and patients/clients. It increases job satisfaction and morale, ensures patients/clients are receiving optimal care through better communication, provides transference of complex clinical skills to workers and builds a culture of best practice and innovation.
